Kukup Family Time!

In October (that is 3 months back. Oops!), the family went to Kukup for the sister's wedding part 2. It is my first time there because I always reject boyfriend's invitation to join him and his team. My brother drove us there and we stayed at Piggy House for two nights.

Really nothing much to do in Kukup but I guess it is a good place for big group of friends to hang out together. Mahjong and sing K from day to night and continue till the next day. We mahjong on both night till wee hours of the morning and drove ourselves crazy with the lack of sleep. Got to try so of the (more) delicious food from Kukup cos brother-in-law grew up there and they know where all the good stuff are. Apparently Kukup is more than just the same lane of road we see when we enter. There are so much more yummy food inside.

We started Friday with lunch at JB. BAK KU TEH!! <3

We relied on snapshot of maps to make our way to Kukup and reached safe and sound. Phew.... My brother is really quite daring sometimes.

you have reached Kukup!

We went out for coffee time and explored the area a little. Caught a glimpse of the sunset before heading back to Piggy House for yummy BBQ dinner! Some of the food were really good - OTAH! But we were attacking the food all the time, I didn't manage to take any photos. That night, we mahjong-ed and had super delicious prawn cracker.

cute little place in the middle of nowhere

The next morning, we woke up to breakfast (provided by Piggy House). Feel like kings and queens when we were there. Hee. The auntie at Piggy House helped to arrange for a trip to the nearby kelong and being typical city girl, I was looking forward to it. They also have tour to the National Park but we decided to skip it cos of the mosquitoes.

The uncle who drove the boat brought us around the small kelong and showed us some of the fishes there. Nothing much really and the food sold there were more expensive than on mainland. Tsk!

With nothing much left to do for the afternoon, we...

In the evening, we got ourselves ready for the wedding banquet. First time attending a wedding banquet in the school hall, EXCITED! HAHA!

It was a night filled with good food and live music. We ended by releasing some lantern which wasn't easy because it was really windy.

On Sunday, we came back at about 12pm (not before we had a few rounds of food). We saw lots of roadside stalls selling durian and got tempted to have some. My brother, being an anti-durian person, obliged!

The occasional break away from the hustle and bustle in the city is greatly appreciated, not sure when is the next time though. Ending this post with my minion which I bought at Kukup. It has stopped singing for a while though :((

BANANAAAAAA!!!

Staycation @ Amara Sanctuary

In October, Yupei and I attended the wedding show at Amara Sanctuary together though I was pretty certain back then that I will not have the wedding there (out of budget). We still had fun looking at the different vendors, listening to the sales person from La Belle, enjoying the yummy food and all. We stayed till the end for the lucky draw and guess what!!!

WE WON THE FIRST PRIZE!

so freaking lucky!

So, we made a date with our boyfriends for a staycation at their one-bedroom villa on the last week of November. Not much reviews on this place but we were really looking forward to a relaxing time. Luck wasn't on our side because it was raining like crazy the entire time we were there. It poured so bad, we couldn't shower properly because it was an entire outdoor shower concept. With all the leaves and water around, we didn't really enjoy the room and the private (mini) pool. There was way too much mosquito lurking around too.
my favourite part of Amara Sanctuary! HAHA!!

All bad things aside, I appreciated this experience since we didn't pay a single cent. We went to the gym instead since the rain refuses to stop. And I have to admit, the gym is one of the best features of Amara Sanctuary. I had a staycation with my girlfriends at Amara last year but we didn't make it to the gym, so glad we did this time round. A group of personal trainer runs the gym (though all hotel guests can visit and use equipment themselves) and we got free sessions with them cos they were too free. HAHA!! I pick up a few tips and know more about my body from the trainer who guided me. They also invited us to the free Yoga session the next morning (which we declined. Hee)

The next morning, the rain managed to stop though it was still wet and slightly gloomy. We hop (okay, I did) to the Sky Pool to enjoy the cold chilly water. Haha!

pool near our villa. Too much mosquitoes around

After our swim, boyfriend and I went to Coastes (upcoming post) for breakfast while Yupei and ZY went for their hotel's breakfast. They were full of praises for it! (Can't wait for our wedding reception at AMARA!!!)

Well, I do love Amara Sanctuary but I do not recommend a stay at their villas due to the lack of maintenance. I had a much more enjoyable time at their Larkhill Terrace the previous time. Seriously can't wait for our next stay which will probably be our wedding day! OMG!!!

Hello 2014!

Oh my! I have been away from this space for more than two months. Am back because I want to document the end of 2013 which has been indeed a wonderful year though there were some ups and downs.

I started 2013 without a job and a plan (kind of). The first half of 2013 was really amazing because I had the time to do anything I like. Accept relieve teaching jobs as and when I like and working as a assistant teacher at a Drama class. All these while I did alot of leisure baking and spending a lot of time with friends, family and boyfriend. And also some cooking with the boyfriend :))

We also visited a lot more cafes and some of my favourites are

Visited the S.E.A Aquarium as part of a birthday gift for Jaydon

Went on a trip to Kota Kinabalu which boyfriend and I had book way before I ended my previous job. Thankful for the small addition income to help fund this trip. Funny thing is, boyfriend is always paying more
for our trips but we really went on dutch for this trip. The one which I am suppose to be more broke.

Happy that we have shared so much sunrise and sunsets together. More to come!

In June, I started work at my current new place which I am still learning to cope with all the work. Glad I decided to take a break no matter how much disapproval I get (especially from older generation) but also need to get back to work cos the bank account is disapproving the too-long-a-break.

Also in June, DouDou came to stay at our place and I had no choice but to overcome my fear of dog. Very much in love with him now :)

Boyfriend and I attended our first concert together and MayDAY provided us with such an enjoyable time!

We ended June by heading on a self-drive trip to Malacca together with my brother and sis-in-law. A case of too much food, too little time.

Went on my first (PAID) run with my girlfriends. The Color Run 2013!

Celebrated the mister's 25th birthday at Fullerton Bay Hotel where we stuffed ourselves silly with high-tea food. I also liaised with the people at The Landing Point to give him a surprise birthday cake :)

In September, I went on the first overseas trip with my girlfriends to BALI!

Celebrated my birthday with the boyfriend at Au Chocolat Cafe at MBS with one of the most awesome truffle fries!!!

My sister got married and held her wedding at Swissotel and also in Kukup so the family went on a mini holiday to Malaysia together!

Yvonne and I also help to set up the candy table for my sister's wedding at Swissotel. Lots of hard work from everyone around me actually.

Staycation with boyfriend, yupei and zy at Amara Sanctuary which we won during the wedding show which we attended in October

And ended the year with a Christmas party with the poly mates

2014 will be a lot more exciting because... ...

After confirming our pre-wedding shoot with Multifolds, we also started planning for the BIG day. We have settled on 15 November 2014 (about 10 months away!!!!!!!!) and have confirmed venue, bridal shop and even Actual Day photographer. Pretty awesome, I think.

Boyfriend has also started his shift work and that means alot of adjustment on our meet-ups, phone calls and weekends. Was looking forward to this change actually because I believe we can always work things out. I know you will be reading this soon and just want to say I LOVE YOU! Lets work hard together!

2014, here we go!
