Vietnam Part I

Hello!

A couple of months back, I went on a trip to Ho Chi Minh and Mui Ne with the boyfriend

After clearing the immigration, we went searching for the bus that will bring us to the busy District 1. Exit from the Departure Hall and turn right, you will probably see this bus number 152 waiting for you. To get small change for the bus ride (cost 4,000 dong per pax), we had to get those exorbitantly priced mineral water just beside the waiting area.

madness traffic we got to face for the next 4 days.

Since it was early, we crossed the road after alighting at the terminal to Highlands Coffee. Lovely coffee but the cake we had wasn't up to expectation. Food are also available but we weren't really hungry.

After a short rest, we proceeded to Ben Thanh Market and began our adventure with the madness traffic. The market was rather cramped and stuffy and carrying out backpack with us certainly didn't help to make us feel any better. Bought a couple of souvenir before we move on to have lunch at Pho24 (their fast food joint for Vietnamese food). If one is feeling brave, I will recommend you to have your food just along the walkway. But being our first day there and wanting to feel safe, we went for Pho 24...

After lunch, it was time for us to walk to Sinh Tourist (which I have pre-booked our bus tickets to Mui Ne). With the map below and the direction from the very helpful locals, we finally reached after an half and hour walk. Anyway, the tickets were bought at USD 6 for each person which I had paid way before the trip

Collected the bus tickets with some time to spare but the horrid weather outside make us just want to jelly in the air-con. Anyway, Sinh Tourist is located at the backpacker street and there were many other agency but from the look, Sinh Tourist seems the most trustworthy and we didn't face any problem throughout our entire trip :)

The bus ride really took us 5 hours and though by the time we reach Mui Ne it was only 6+, it was really dark. The bus dropped us at our respective hotel and lucky us cos we were the first few to alight. I had plan for dinner at Cay Bang which I have checked is about 10mins walk away from our hotel. Cay Bang is like our local zi char and Mui Ne being a fishing village, it is no surprise that Cay Bang has very fresh delicious seafood!!!

We had sweet and sour pork rib (which look nothing like what we have in Singapore), fried calamari, egg fried rice and the seafood pot. The price were on the low side and we thought the serving would be small but guess what! What we ordered could probably feed 4 comfortably, no wonder we got funny stares from the staff when we were ordering.

Went back to the hotel after dinner as we were tired from the whole bus ride. Maybe it is just me cos the boyfriend stayed up watching the tv till late. I don't know how he do it.

Phew! Finally done with Day 1. Day 2 coming up soon, i hope...
