Kota Kinabalu Day 4 (21.05.13) goodbyeeeee

Our last day is really short because the flight back is at 2.45pm. Basically it is just breakfast, nap and lunch before heading to airport. It is no wonder boyfriend gained 2kg from the trip.

We asked the hotel for recommendation and they helped to call up a taxi for us (same uncle!). He brought us to New WK Restaurant or New Wong Kwok (路阳新旺角酒楼) which is the restaurant that I noted down. There were lots of locals there despite being a weekday morning. We could totally retire there... Haha! The food were generally good and affordable. Just skip the har gao and xiaolongbao because of the very thick skin used to wrap them.

The uncle got his nephew to pick us up after our meal and we went back to rest in the room until it was time to check out. With some time to spare, we went out to eat again :)) Visited Fook Yuen (just beside Old Town) for their Roti Kahwin (which is our usual kaya butter toast) but because of some communication barrier, we had ours not toasted.. Still, the bread is really really nice! Also bought egg tart and pineapple bun from random coffeeshop. NICE!

last glimpse of Gaya Street
We departed for the airport 2 hours before our flight (as advised by the hotel) and ended up waiting very long after we check in because there were only 1 cafe inside!!! But we get to see the plane coming into the "gate" and all the staff getting ready for next flight...

Ending our relaxing trip with a photo in lovely Changi Airport:

Kota Kinabalu Day 3 (20.05.13)

It is day 3 of our nua, chill, eat holiday! Today's plan is eat, massage, eat, Sunset Bar and eat... Eating is our favourite hobby! First meal of the day is at Kedai Kopi Yee Fung along Gaya Street for their signature 怡豐叻沙.

After breakfast, we walked along the waterfront (just like day 2) to our massage parlor but it was still rather early so we went to Starbucks to chill. We visited Helen Beauty Reflexology at Warisan Square again. More details here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Helen-Beauty-Reflexology/411470672273634

After our 1 hour full body massage + 1/2 hour foot reflex (cost us RM 74.20 each), we went looking for lunch. I have bookmarked a place for Tom Yum Noodle but... I didn't bring out my printed itinerary and only remember it being behind Le Meridian. Can't even remember the name of the coffeeshop. Luckily boyfriend looked through the itinerary before and he kind of remembered. It is not hard to find, just look for the most crowded coffeeshop. Sure have nice food. HAHA!

Back to our hotel for nap before going to Shangri La at Tanjung Aru. We asked the hotel reception for help to get us a taxi to to Shangri La. We went out at about 4pm because we wanted to get good seats and chill before the sunset.

Yes, we managed to get one of the best seats but so? More people came to the bar at about 6 and some even sat down on the floor - blocking my view, without buying at drinks or food - making this whole sunset viewing process no more chillax. They can camwhore like mad with the beautiful sunset and I have to deal with their head, back or feet in my photos. WHY LIKE THAT?!? We even ask them to move because we wanted to take photos but they move like... 5cm? The Sunset Bar is a great place to chill in the late afternoon but from 6pm onwards, just move.... And we did, even when the sun have yet to finish setting. And guess what greet us. Absolute surprise:

Rainbow peaking out of nowhere. Just as we were admiring this beautiful creation, a chef from Shangri La came to chat with us and pointed out Mount Kinabalu to us. He also mentioned that the sky will be much more beautiful after it set down beyond the horizon. So we decided to move to the private beach to enjoy the dramatic sky

The taxi uncle has agreed to come and pick us up at 7pm so we went to the lobby to wait for him. Guess what? It is not even 6.50pm and he is already there. We were planning for seafood zichar that night. I have read about Sri Selera Kampung Air and the uncle recommended us to choose Suang Tian Seafood Restaurant. We didn't order alot but still stuffed at the end cos there were only two of us...
