MALACCA : Nadeje Cake House

After Jonker Street, our next stop is Nadeje Cake House. We did not drive out as we expect the traffic to be very bad at night and the possibility of not being able to drive back to Jonker Street very high. Although the entrance to our hotel is not at Jonker Street, we faced terrible traffic when walking back. So we were quite relieved to have not drove but that means alot of walking.

Nadeje Patisserie is a very famous Cake House in Malacca. They are well-known for their mille crepe, a French cake made with multiple layers of crepe. In French, “Mille” means “a thousand”, implying that they used many layers of crepe in their secret recipe.

We went to Nadeje Cake House at Plaza Mahkota and despite being rather full, we ordered 2 cakes and teas to share. We had Berry Berry Strawberry and Double Chocolate which we felt were only passable. It could be our inability to appreciate millicrepe. The serving for the tea were rather big too and that fills up even more tummy space.

MALACCA : Jonker Street, One Bite Durian Puff, Jonker 88

After our lunch at Nancy's Kitchen, we walked around Jonker Street and continued our food hunts.

So excited to see Taste Better One Bite Durian Puff cos I have read so much about it! So dying to try though I used to not like stuffs made by durian. I only like to eat plain durian in the past, I guess my choice of food has changed a lot as I grow up. The staff reminded us to finish it in one mouth but the puff was simply too big. Had such a hard time trying but the bursting flavour in the mouth is really satisfying!

Taste Better is also available in JB Bukit Indah Jusco. Can't wait to go try it again Taste Better locations

Just beside Taste Better is Jonker 88 which  has a shorter queue than I have seen online. We didn't hesitate to join the queue to make our purchase but it was really packed in the shop and we could only stand and finish up our Chendol. I have no interest in gula melaka, coconut milk and all so chendol doesn't interest me at all. I just want to make them eat. HAHA!

this was after we were done with our Chendol

After chendols, we continued our walking tour and made our way to one of the Nadeje's outlet for their millicrepe. Next post :)

MALACCA : Nancy's Kitchen

Seriously difficult to keep track on my blog since work has start but I am definitely going to try to work on it for memory sake. I am back to continue on our Malacca trip. Following the short break at Kedai Satay Xiang Ji, we walked to Jonker Street to explore and to look for our second stop :)

It is not difficult to find Nancy's Kitchen after the staff at the hotel pointed out to us that it is near the Geographer Cafe. Was quite surprised to walk into a super small space but after walking past the small dining area, we came to the cashier and kitchen. We eventually got a table at the 2nd level.

The entire restaurant was buzzing with business as it was lunch time. We quickly got down to business and ordered our sumptuous lunch. We ordered Spring Roll (RM 3.00), Chicken Candlenut (RM 12), Deep Fried Squid (RM 12), Nyonya Laksa (RM 6.00) and Ngor Hiang. We really love the Chicken Candlenut and wished we had ordered a bigger version of it. The Ngor Hiang was also very yummy!

Will definitely recommend a trip here especially for the Chicken Candlenut! Next post will be more about Jonker Street and our walk-arounds.
