MALACCA : Portuguese Settlement Seafood Dinner!

After the short tea session at Nadeja, our next stop is Portuguese Settlement for dinner. We knew it was really really far so we wanted to get a cab to drive us there but unfortunately... ... We just happen to be at this wrong road that doesn't have a single taxi. In the end, we walked there without really knowing the exact location. PRO-to-the-max!

Point A is Jonker Boutique Hotel and Point B is Portuguese Settlement. We walked round and round the houses near Portuguese Settlement before finally spotting some crowd nearby. I don't think it is advisable to walk because it took us more than an hour. So remember to get a cab (while you can) at the more touristy area.

There were a total of 10 stalls to choose from and we just followed our heart and went to stall number 8. I remember reading about the yummy mango juice and because we were still early, the lady from stall 8 helped us to order the mango juice so we didn't have to go and queue. Love it when there is good service like that. The mango juice was simply delicious because of the different types of mango used giving it a tinge of sourness midst the sweet.

finally sight of crowds!!! We are reaching

do look out for this! It is beside stall 10 (photo below)

Almost all the dishes we ordered were spicy. I love the otah! The food were pretty good so no complains about the taste. But... ... One thing that might stop me from going there would be the environment. There were quite a few cats lurking around and I can't eat in please when I see them. To make things worse, they are quite a terror bunch that will stand to pull bags and look for things to eat (when you are sitting right beside). Luckily that didn't happen at our table.

long queue but boyfriend couldn't resist a second cup

Little did we know that it was the closing of their yearly June festival,  Festa San Pedro.  So the crowd grew bigger at the end of our meal. It was impossible to get a cab back and so, we decided to walk back, taking a caffeine break at Starbucks along the way. And because it was a Saturday night, we had to visit Jonker Night Market which was nothing exciting actually. More looking forward to our supper (in the next post)!
